The inauguration process

This is a busy time in Moscow:

- 07 May, Inauguration of Vladimir Putin as President of the Russian Federation.

- 08 & 09 May, marks the 67th Anniversary of VICTORY over the Nazi fascist invaders. On 8 May, newly installed President Putin will lead a procession for the ceremonial lighting of the eternal flame at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers. That will be followed by a gala ball for veterans at the Kremlin.

Then on 09 May the formal parade will be staged on Red Square with international media coverage.


So, what happens in the inauguration of a Russian president?

What will President Putin do immediately after being declared President?

I was in Moscow once on 9 May but could't find a way to see the parade. Saw where it ended though and all the veterns around town. Still was exciting.
Was in Cheboksary last 9 May and saw the parade there which was OK. My wife's father was a wounded and decorated veteran so he received a lot of attention. But strange news for me was that 9 May, other than the Moscow parade,  has not always been such a big deal in Russia. It really stared up with Breznev and then got bigger and better.
