Now if Putin would provide free plane fare and stays at upscale hotels, and have a line of "10's" waiting outside to help us Americans populate  Russia, there would be a baby boom like he never saw before. Of course there might be an equal amount of divorces back here in the states when we return.

I agree. BoyzII men and their entourage isn't enough sperm donors to help with the problem. Ironically enough quite a few years ago, I had an adjoining suite at the MGM in Vegas to the guys in BoysII men. There were four suites in that part of the hallway, they had 3 of them and I had one. They were a rowdy bunch but overall a pretty good bunch of guys. I had never even heard of or listened to them at that point. They gave me some backstage passes to the MTV music awards, signed posters and cd's for my daughter, invited me over to hang out with them. My daughter was really impressed when I got home and told her about it.

My buddy (who was also my accountant) do entrepreneurial work during off tax season and he promoted BIIMen's concert in Manila. Sadly the original scheduled date had to be cancelled because of the '05 tsunami. Consequently, the postponement cost him additional costs and he 'broke even' when his gate receipts didn't do as well because the *anticipation factor* fizzled out.
 
This was during the time I was in the midst of my Russian silliness and he had asked if  I can connect with some locals in Rus for ground work, etc...as he had BIIMen, Maroon 5 and Gwen Stefani consigned for engagements. I didn't know anything about this biz prior to this and didn't realize the sizeable money invested at the front side but he said doing some legwork and a small $$ investment he'd be more than happy to get me in on a % of gate receipts.
 
I actually asked a board member (FSUW) who I was told was in the promotion biz, too and remember her telling me entertainers like BIIMen won't *sell* in Moscow or SP. So not sure why Putin would specifically pick these guys per the article.
 
Anyway, these guys had fallen from grace. They are now down to playing in places like the Morongo Casino (California Indian Casino) where they used to be able to fill places like (maybe) the Staples Center. Pretty sad.

Quite honestly, I wasn't a fan prior or since. Just isn't my preferred genre. I liked the guys though. Very welcoming and generous. Several of them apologized continually for their noise and sent baskets of fruit and liquor to my suite. I saw them on some special a couple of years later and noticed some new faces.

In Russia, it is difficult to convince a family that they should have more than two kids.  And the number of women who had children without being married is significant.  Add the two together and it is easy to see that population rates in Russia would decline.

As stated in the Adoption Ban thread, the real reason for the Ban is that there aren't enough kids left to populate Russia.
