Introduction
« on: May 14, 2013, 08:48:58 AM »
Hello everyone!
I'm a newbie both here and in international dating, so I hope this forum will help me to understand better the peculiarities of this difficult process))) I've made up my mind to start international dating after seeing by chance an interesting man's profile on one of the sites. Unfortunately, by the time I registered there and had my profile approved he'd already stopped visiting it(((. So my message to everybody is: when you see someone you really like, write to him/her, seize the moment, because you might not have a second chance later. I wish everyone who is in search to find their soul mate and a long and full of happy moments life to everyone who have already found each other!

Welcome Carolyn hopefully you will not be too depressed after reading the stories here :)))
You are right that you should try to seize the opportunity, and hopefully you will be able to find a new interesting man somewhere.

It would certainly be interesting for everyone if you would be able to update us now and then about international dating from your perspective. How many reactions you receive, what funny, bad or good letters, what crazy offers.

And of course if someone would visit you a 'reverse trip report' about how you experience things.
No it is not a dog. Its really how I look.  ;)

Thank you, guys, for your greetings!

Welcome to the forum Carolyn. Is there a specific country you are searching?  :welcome:
I have no territorial preferences, but as I know English better than other foreign languages, I'd like my future partner to be from an English-speaking country.

Welcome Carolyn hopefully you will not be too depressed after reading the stories here :)))

I'll try to post all important updates and my thoughts on the process of dating as well as read other people's ones.  ;)

Welcome Carolyn.

Where are you from? Can you share with us a bit more of your journey?

I'm from Russia and I haven't travelled for dating purposes, I've recently started this online-dating stuff and don't have much to write about yet :)

Interesting name; I have a cousin with this name Carolyn.

So I guess your mother, or whoever named you, is native of an English speaking country.

Or, if you have just Anglicised your name; please don't do it.
Most men (I  think) looking for a gal from FSU want the entire package . . . including the foreign (to them) name.   8)

I wouldn't want a Judy, Linda, Susan, etc.

Give me a Natochka, Svetochka, Irisha, Galochka, Valusha, etc.   ;)
A beautiful woman is pleasant to look at, but it is easier to live with a pleasant acting one.

Yeah, but imagine if Carolyn dated a guy named "ML".  It would be terrible when it came to introductions.

Carolyn:  This is my boyfriend "ML".
Friend:  Nice to meet you Mel.
Carolyn:  No, his name isn't Mel, it is ML.
Friend:  I never met a man named IsMall.
Carolyn:  No, ML.
Friend:  Noml?  Is that yiddish?
Carolyn:  Just call him Ted.

Actually, it's just a nickname for the forum. :) I've recently finished reading a novel, where one of the characters'  name was Carolyn, it sounds very beautiful and exotic to me. My real name is already taken here by another member and it's nothing like Natochka or Irisha, I don't like diminutives.

Sad news Carolyn, ML has MyGal.   You will have to look for another two letter man.   :P

Must be from Ukraine.  If from Russia, it would be Migal.  But the Brits might say Milady.
Question is, is she special enough to be referred to as "the Mygal" or should we just say Mygal?
