Professional Photographer for placing photos on dating sites

Hi all,

I am in Kiev. And it occurred to me that I do NOT have any professional photograph.  I think having some taken will help me improve my odds for my profile.

I have done a search on this site but only found these two links, one of them seems no longer in service:

PS. My last business trip to Ukraine in April did not go super well.  I am in a fortunate position that I can be in Ukraine again for a business trip again.  So I can take some time to go to other parts of the country this summer to meet potential future wife.

I believe ALL pictures should be the best you can do. Maybe a couple of professional ones for profile but then add other photos as needed. Maybe it was just me, but once I started writing a woman I included one at least every time I wrote. With my wife I probably sent over 300 before she arrived.
And she sent me many also. We didn't have Skype at that time.

I did that early in my emails with the ladies. Doing something extra goes a long way with the ladies.

The best way to improve odds is to write more ladies. If your photos are making you look too good, you may get dumped on the first date for misrepresenting yourself. Most ladies that commented on my photos said I look better than my photos in real life. The rest said I look the same. I know when I'm on a date with the lady and she looks worse than her photos to the point of misleading men, it's hard to have fun when disappointed.


Since you're in Kiev, use the Mamba.ru to chat up with some ladies instantly or sign up with bride.ru and get the ladies phone numbers to call them up. Those are instant ways of getting dates instead of waiting for an email reply that may or may not ever come.

I see your point and this is what happened to me too:  ladies who do decide to meet, said that I look better than my photos.  To me I think this is a problem.  It means that someone who could have wanted to meet, decided not to.  I'd rather we meet and decide we are not a match, than never meeting to begin with...

Thanks for the suggestions.  I did try mamba.ru but the response rate is super low. I suspect my photos have something to do with it. Hence the thoughts of getting professional ones. I have not tried brides.ru yet so maybe should try that next.

Anyway, I got in touch with a photographer who charges about 500UAH per hour. I am going to have a chat with him to see if he can provide what might be useful for me.

Why not to do your photos yourself? Most of the modern cameras and even certain smartphones have a remote control function. You can choose a time of day, environment, light. Make as many photos as you want to, I mean, dozens and dozens, of which you definitely will be able to pick up a few good ones to represent you. The digital images that you don't like could be erased quickly from the memory card.
 
Another option would be to ask a friend to do the same for you, if you are comfortable to do that.

thanks Lily, nice suggestion.  to be honest the problem is not the number of photos, it's the lack of taste on my part.  I am simply unable to pick out good-taste photos even when given choices.  I don't call myself a "geek" for no reason    Money is not my biggest concern right now, finding a future wife is.  So if spending a little more can improve my odds it will be money well spent
