A thought just occured to me about when my wife flies home from Kiev. She leaves from Kiev, flies to Milan,It., then on to Chicago. Does she need any special documents to change planes in Milan. I looked at the site for Malpensa airport to see if there were rules to that effect, but found nothing. So here I am coming to and asking the experts again. Thanks.

Start2,

As long as your wife has either her green card or her Advance Parole with her she should have no trouble getting through any International airport.

Beside, as I recall, the Italians are not big on paperwork anyway, that's why when they came to America they were called "WOP's", since they arrived here "WithOut Papers".  ;)
