And other 1st contact helpful tips
So I thought I would start a post to talk about initial messaging. Let’s face it, if you don’t get that reply you are going nowhere with the lady you are messaging.
Women you are going to be the most help in this thread as the internet dating is not the same for men as it is women. If you are an attractive guy you may get a few first contact emails, but if you are an attractive woman you will get many messages every day.
So my question to all you ladies is; Which messages do you read and why? Which subject lines are an auto delete? Which subject lines are a must read for you? What messages did you really like, what did they say, what did they ask?
Please add anything else that comes to mind.
I want to stay focused on the initial contact message, but feel free to expand into other topics if you think it will help.
I had this idea since talking to my fiancé about how she decided to read my first message to her and her decision to send me a reply.
Our story is; we met on freepersonals.ru, her profile did not have much to say about her, but it did say “I am a good girl, here for a serious relationship…” So at first I thought… ???? huh ok….. My first message to her contained the subject line “I am a Good Guy!”. Part of it was sarcasm because her profile did not say much and part of it was focusing in on what she did say.
When she opened her messages that day there were a hundred unread messages in her inbox. Most had the subject lines “Hi There!, Hello, Hi, etc” So down the list she went… Delete, Delete, Delete, Delete (are you guys paying attention)… Then she saw “I am a Good Guy!”….. She stopped and though…. Huh, good guy?... She opened my message and read my profile and sent me a reply, two days later we were talking on Skype daily and one thing lead to another and now we are going to get married this fall.
The point of this post is this…. Without her reading that first message we would not be together today.
I would like to focus on the first contact message, but know that there are many other things that solicit a reply, like a nice profile, pictures, etc, but those have been covered well in other posts.
