Nigerian email Scammer

I responded to one of these letters calling the person a crook and they have been sending me letters saying they desperately need someone to hold the $5,000.000. I even received pictures of a very attractive young african woman.

At one point I said I would gladly place the money in my bank if they sent me $20,000 of it up front for my much needed dental work. There was no response for 2 weeks.

Yesterday I get another letter from this woman that she still needs my help. She is calling me "dear" now.

Have any of you actually replied to these letters.

I have a pen pal I don't really need.

Was the woman living in a refugee camp after her parents where macheted? That she can only get out now and then to the internet cafe to send letters and sexy pictures of her self? There is so much tragedy in this world.

One of the other Nigerian type of scams is perpetrated with businesses.   They will buy something for lets say 15,000.   They will send a certified check for $ 25,000.  They will then ask if the overpayment can be refunded.  Or they will ask for something like TV's to be put in with thier shipment even though it is not realted to what they bought.  Usually the $ 15,000 worth of stuff has been shipped and the money refunded before the bank returns the check a few weeks later saying it is counterfit and the issing bank would not honor it.  By the way, I have had this one tried on me.
