From a quick reading of the interview experiences being currently reported by K-1 people, none have been asked any of the questions that would have rquired by IMBRA.

Best guess is that this is because all current interviews are being done for couples who applied long before the new law went into effect. Any petition postmarked before March 6th should be exempt from the requirement. It ill probably be 3 months before we see any real movement (at a minimum) USCIS still has to translate all those flyers into 30 or 40 different languages and distribute them to the Embassies, which will take a considerable amount of time.

After 9/11 it took ten months to START to implement new proceedures and at that, they started 3 months before they had the system of carrying out the new proceedures in place.

This site appears to have some good info on the legal challenges to the new law; although you have to read through all of the hype.
If you dig deep enough, you can find it is sponsored by an agency---who would have thought!!!!--but if it keeps everybody informed, well, you can just can discount the sensationalism.
Experience is what you get when you didn't get what you wanted.

Yeah I think Kevin (KG's) has that same link on his site - Some good info - but lots and lots of "BS" hype to wade thru too....

FWIW (jb) The "lawyer" in all that mumbo-jumbo cites a "20 y.o. DWI case" as being irrelevant (or should be) Just make sure you tell your lady for the interview (shrug) I guess...

Also, as to "forms" - I've yet to see anthing from INS (UCIS) about it - but haven't looked all that close just yet... Point is, "some" agencies are simply requiring you to fill out a simple form (one posted below is for an Asian site) - whereas I READ that KG does an actual background check (though I could be wrong on that?) Point is - Where's the line in the sand?? Running a full BG check *seems* a bit extreme to me (yet I also understand an agency wanting to cover its arse!)
