Any Advice on a Eye Catching Dating Profile for LuckyLovers members?

Hi everyone,

I am Lida from LuckyLovers' support staff.

Many of our members (men and women) have pretty bare bone profiles and we would like to give them some quick tips on how to put together an eye catching profile.  We would like to hear any suggestions that you have to add to the list especially from the seasoned online daters here.   

Here are some tips we have put together so far:

a) photos:  have multiple photos in different scenarios (close up, full body shot, showing your personality, showing your interests, etc)
b) less is not more:  jot down your notes first on paper and polish it before publishing it online.  You only have one chance to make a first impression.
c) stay positive - put your best foot forward 
d) be honest - lying will catch up with you eventually
e) be confident, decisive, kind and a gentleman - those are virtues that many Russian and Eastern European women are looking for in a mate

a. Sounds good. Like most people, I'm skeptical of a person that only has to offer head shots. Makes you wonder what's below the neck. If they're ashamed to show that part of their body, there's probably good reason for that.


b. Less is not more but sometime more is too much! I don't want to read a novel. I remember a guy here insisting that a 15 page intro letter is the thing to do and he refused to write less. I think he put most of the ladies he wrote to to sleep.


c. being positive is always good. Not fun to read the grumpy people on the forum and reading a profile full of negatives isn't going to get me excited.


d. Being honest is going to turn a lot of potential suitors off. On the internet people can be everything they're not in real life, handsome, educated, rich and famous! Lying works for players who seek short term relationships but if a guy or girl wants a relationship that lasts a lifetime, they need to be honest.


e. Sounds good and I might add, a guy doesn't need the be the best in the world, but if he is better than most of his competition, he should be successful. Also a guy will experience more rejection than acceptance but if a guy can attract just 10% of the women out there, he'll be a very busy man.
