Catherine the Great

I just got done finishing the HBO miniseries. Catherine the Great. It was very well made and dispels some rumors about the monarch. It also tells a very interesting story about some of Russia's history. As usual, Helen Mirren does an awesome job.

Nothing close to the Russian history except names. Shame upon Helen Mirren to participate in such bullshit.

Mirren had long sought to play this role and 'BS' probably isn't the word I'd apply to her portrayal and that of other actors ..

As someone that had read Catherine's letters, Mirren describes the portrayal of same as 'accurate' ..


Worth watching - if you are interested in period drama
