May be you foreigners stop to see anything like grabbing your money here and start to follow RULEs of the county where you are GUESTS ?

Elen:  How is it possible to follow the rules when they keep changing the rules in the middle of the game?

As a Russian you should understand that there is a world of difference between 'the way things are supposed to be' and 'the way things really are'

There may be a central database but every visa registration I've ever seen was handwritten in a ledger.  When (or if) that information is entered into a computerized system is anyone's guess.

I just went through passport control this past weekend with a registration stamp that was over 6 months expired.  They didn't even look at the migration card, in fact it was handed right back to me when I offered it to them.

This is because I have a multi-entry visa.  Had it been a tourist visa or a single-entry they would have kept it.

Next week I fly to the states on the last day of my current visas validity.  I'll let you know if any problems are encounterd when passing through passport control.

Upon return from the states I will have my справка... and by this time next year I will have my residency card.

I'm telling you about laws. Follow them or held a hope that nothing happen with you is your chioce The only one thing I have no desire to hear from you that how you are moaning and crying about you poor things paying those bribes ( or penalties)  in a case you decided not obey those rules.

Ps rules are changed not in one day. A new law is published in newspapers a month before ( or something like that)  it would be applyed. In a case with visas the only one thing which was changed was a location in the city of that place where you are supposed to go (and even it was not in all cases) - not big deal at all

------------------------------------------------------------

PS News for you
Your baddy Putin singned 19 July one more law which makes registration easy ( well like they say) Now registration will be just an act of inform but not like obligation That means for example that  those who invited you here  can just send a letter to local Migration office ::) Happy now ?  ::)

Though a law is too new to give you more correct and trustfull information - ask your tour agency after all - it's their business

( New law will take place since January 15, 2007 Be ready  ;) )
