Historic Rover Landing on Mars

I was at JPL's complex earlier this week and took photo of the scale model of the actual Rover landing on Mars this afternoon (12:30 PM PST) (with and without my very sexy self on the photo). It will also carry a drone which will be intermittently fly on Mars on numerous flight mission, take pictures, then return to the Rover every time. It'll do this multiple times and getting further and further each time.


The rover meanwhile will be busy coring and retrieving samples on the ground. It will store the samples until it is retrieved (by another craft at a later time ) back to earth.


This current Rover was launched back in June 2020. Controlling it from JPL have a delayed reaction of anywhere from 8-20 minutes depending on Mars' atmospheric disturbances.


The landing will streaming LIVE on youtube today - like 'now'...again...12:30 PM pacific standard time!
