My father was producing children when he was 56 years old; mother was much younger, of course.

I got a vasectomy when I was 32 so no chance of production like my father.  My wife was the same age and we had 2  children. 

Biggest reason for the vasectomy was that I was entering PhD program and it would have been a disaster from many aspects if wife became pregnant.

And, of course, she was happy to not have to use any birth control methods.

Several FSU women I spent time with were unaware of what a vasectomy was.
When they researched it, they were very happy and told me how considerate I was of my wife.
