Gator and Bucky are the Same

Hello everyone.  I am glad to be here and hopefully I can add something to RWD.

At RWG I was an active participant under "bucky"; however, the transition there annoyed me so I retired from posting.  Yet, how can anyone stay away from such an fascinating subject!?!?

Some words about me:

Age:  старый козел (old goat).

RW:  Over four years of steady experience, three with a wondeful Moscovite, with whom I did a K-1.  I find RW absolutely fascinating.  Never encountered a scam.  On the contrary, all of my time with RW has been good (with one brief exception), sometimes unbelievably fantastic. 

Other:  Retired for over 10 years, two sons (one 22-yo still living with me – I am too tolerant and patient), golfer (sometimes it is almost as good as sex – if that shocks you, recall my age).

I left the RWG also........I also did'nt like the changes. If Dan can put a lid on the "flamefest".......this board will be much better. Glad to see another "geezer" show up here.

About those "flamefest" issues . . . .

* RWD was started with a couple of tenets. Among them is that I do not plan to be a 'slave' to this board. The members here are remarkably self-policing. There is an element of maturity here that is often not found elsewhere. You are free to intervene in a "flamefest" to get control of it - as easily as I am. In fact, if you stick around a while - or go back and look through some of the old posts, you will see exactly that sort of behavior by MANY of the RWD members.

* Since I began RWD, it has grown to the point where I am no longer able to manage it the way I once was. To help me, there are some ad-hoc Moderators (I call them The Mod Squad), and they are around. In the topic I think you first brought this up, those Mods could have jumped in at any time and taken action. The fact that they didn't tells me they saw some shred of value in the posts and true to the history of RWD being largely self-moderating, allowed it the room to take its own shape - and it did - FWIW.

* I allow a great deal of latitude on most topics. I stop short of allowing topics which are not thematic - and especially those which are focused on politics, religion and/or ethicity.

Now - from what everyone has said, you have a great deal to offer. I have noted your comments about the "flamefest" topics, and have addressed them. I hope you stick around and make your contribution - maybe even put a little dampener on some of the "flamefest" topics before they become full-grown conflagrations.

Thanks Dan,

Nice board. Mainly I was refering to the "Tver soap opera".......where a member "Maxx".....was registing a complaint about an agency in Tver. 26+ pages of bickering......but no answer to the problem. I did try to bring folks back on topic but to no avail. Lots of space filled.....but no help to anyone. Such behavior has "ruined" other disussion boards.
