From the Home of the Blues...Memphis....Ulysses is searching
« on: December 10, 2006, 09:46:12 PM »
Hello guys...
been browsing through the site for a week or so....good advise when I really search,
so keep it up.  I've been with only 1 agency, lots of responses, but as I am 59 years, I eliminated anyone under 40....that being the age of my last long-term(5 years) girlfriend.
I was severely spoiled by the "younger woman" experience, so I'm on a mission, but not for a "trophy".  I was just a late-bloomer in life??  yeah sure huh!!!
anyway, 1 lady stands out already...the glamour shots were good, but the regular photos show the same beauty, but more realistic and normal.  She seems to have a lot of balance and sensibility.  #2 is already asking for me to travel there so as we do not allow all the hopeful words, etc. to build up and take on a life of their own.  Her later photo was drop-dead gorgeous!!!  Both are 40 and impressive, from Ukraine.
I've also had contact with Alla Bereshkova, in Atlanta....a more traditional "match-
maker. Rather pricey endeavor, but seems thorough & professional.  Any wisdom???

Welcome Ulysses! I'll leave it to those with knowledge to answer your questions. You did come to the right place.

Get on a plane. Until you immerse yourself in their culture and find that you can accept it, you have no frame of reference.

Secondly, if you do not show up soon you will be branded as just another Keyboard Cowboy full of BS and promises. Get off your but and go or you will always wonder what if...

My flight into Dublin is booked for late April....from there it's either Odessa or Kharkov???
Now, language????  How much is "minimal"???  How much more??  My only trip to Paris was a comedy, and I was with a bunch of Scots:)..!!!
And I've never been able to divide my attentions very well.....My old Dad said it was tough to "ride two horses at the same time", and my not adhering to that has been a bit costly.
The agency is in Tver, so I'm not looking for any "help" there.....any good connections
to recommend in the Odessa area to guide me on up the road a few Km"s would be  great....as my running club says....On On...

You're trolling in some pretty shark infested waters there but you seem to have some common sense and realistic expectations. I'd say go to Odessa and enjoy some sun after the long cold Memphis winter. I'm sure that the water will be too cold to swim in unless you are one of those burly polar bear guys but the Black Sea is a nice destination.

I had help from Jack's associates on my quest and would recomend the services that he can provide to the uninitiated. They will never leave you hanging out there on your own .I know that he used to have some down in Odessa in the past. I'd shoot him a PM and see what he has to say. I know that he can do a personal ad for you in that area and IMHO that's a better route in some respects than dealing with agency girls. It would also make for some interesting reading this winter.

I salute your initiative to take the first trip as we see so many who never get past the "lookie lou" stage. Either place will at least give you a frame of reference to go by as far as the cultural aspects of this persuit.

Ulysses S. Grant, have you ever been to Automatic Slims right across from the northwest corner of the block that the Peabody is on?

Everybody says, "GO" when you query---regarding the FSU.  Well, I'm going.  And I don't mean to Automatic Slims for the pineapple martini... what does everyone say after you've been?  "Go again."

I'm prepared to go as many times as necessary to find what I seek.  And I'm just looking for some guidance from the good guys sans the paternalism.  From one new guy to another, welcome aboard.  And good luck with your search...

I am sure we all wish you the best of luck.   You mentioned you had been reading posts for about a week and you have lots of time to read more before you hop on the plane in April.   Read all you can.  The knowledge here can save you a ton of time and money.

You mention BeHappy2Day.  You seem to have written them off a bit and I think if you read enough posts you will know they are not your best option, perhaps not even a good option to go with.   LTP and TverLadies are better options in Tver.

You mention Odessa.  Keep reading and you will find many guys have found Odessa a bit tougher city to prospect in than many of the others.   It is not very far from Kherson and Kherson Girls is an excellent agency.

When you go, try to spend a bit if time in Kiev.  It is a really nice city that is very interesing and there are a fair number of agencies and gals there as well.

You asked how much language is minimal.  I virtually knew no Russian during my first few trips.  Don't know very much now for that matter despite spending mega hours trying to learn a few words.   You can do it without much linguistic knowledge.
