  I want to thank all of you for the posting you have done here. This site is great and will be very helpful to me in my trips to the FSU.
  I am a new member but I feel comfortable among you guys and hope to learn a lot. As I will be leaving in 26 days to go to Ukraine I am doing the hard study on things and have not logged enough in my brain as of yet..lol
  Dating a woman and finding a wife is a hard and long process from the readings. Thanks again for the posts on various topics.

  Wiz I'm wondering if maybe I can find a water bed with a headboard and handles? It would sure be nice to get a better handle on things err..LOL.

 I've been darting through some areas of the site and figure it will take me about 36 hours of reading to actually attest that I can answer questions that I might ask myself about the process. The K-1 and K-3 are looking to be options in my belief but who really knows yet until you download the other aspects right?

  Okay so I'm going this trip with no contacts of women and with a friend. I'm jumping from Amsterdam to Kiev and then to Odessa. I'm heading out to Khersen a day or so later after that. I will originate from Houston so I have the trip starting in Houston and stopping in the Odessa area some 21=23 hours after I depart.
 
  Do you think it's a good idea to just feel around and meet women like this?

You need to expand your options, Makkin. Let's remember your history~

 Last time your wrote one woman and visited one woman.  That did not work out, and she was writing a guy named Mark even when you were with her.

Use agencies in Kiev, Kherson and Odessa.  Make a few contacts, so you really will have some girls to meet.  Don't get deeply involved with them....just say I'll be coming to your city and would like to meet you.  Girls jump at the opportunity of really meeting a letter writer, since most write and don't come.

It's fine to just meet girls in clubs and on the street. But remember~ girls who have signed up for agencies are interested in international relationships, and most girls on the street are not.

A friend with you?  Not a good idea, unless he is also dating and you keep your own agendas while in the fsu.  Threes a crowd, man.

  Yes,He is dating and we have that trip to visit the burned child and all.
  There is a child who has been burned badly and he lives near khersen. Maybe you know of him? My friend has had some history with being burned and spent a year and a day in Shriners hospital in Galveston,Texas.
  Was a warmish day for December in 1987 when I took a nap at may parents home. I had just flown in from California where I was working and had five days off to stay with my family. As I nap in my old bedroom I hear an explosion and fly out of bed..lol Remeinder me of my days in the Corps. I ran to the door in shorts and sox and then accross the street where the explosion happened.
  Not being awake was probably good as I fumbled to the garage as the door came climbing open and out popped my friend who was the ripe age of 14 and completely on fire. A neighbor came up and we grabbed him and tossed him to the ground attempting to put out the gas ignited flames. The gas could be put out but it always came back and started a new fire due to the intense heat.
  Thankfully he was blurred in site and we talked for about an hour till the life flight arrived. He kept asking how bad it was and I responded not too bad but I need you talk to me......I yelled and scolded him in ways I could get away with as I knew him very well because in two hours time we were to be at the Houston Astros game as planned.
  I think the temperature did a funny drop of 20 degrees or so and that really helped as it was late afternoon. This never happens if I recall correctly..lol
  Anyway I told him he had to  talk and not stop talking...He listened to me as I followed him to the helicopter that was now located in my parents front yard. I kept telling him don't rest keep talking,YOU HAVE to talk "WILDMAN".
  Later the next day I got in to visit him with 90% third degree burns over 90% of his body. He had about one square inch that was not burned of his entire body and that was it. When I visited the nurses told me he had not stopped rambling and talking and as I looked at him he was talking and talking and talking. He could not see or recognize me but maybe he heard me?
 
  He wants to get this child sponsored to arrive at UTMB in Galveston as this child in Ukraine is having some serious problems with his hands at this time. We should be able to help this child. I hope so.

That's a very moving story, Makkin...thanks for sharing it with us.  And good luck on your mission.

In terms of meeting girls, I do recommend you use honest agencies so your have girls that some level of filtering.

My wife was aghast when I told her your plans.  She told me a true story of girls who work bars, drugging foreign men and robbing them.  Rare, sure, but it happens.  It's not good for foreign men to go it alone unless they are veterns of many fsu trips and speak the language.

Better to meet a girl not in a bar...  Go the safer route and use an agency.

  Thanks for the information and such things that will be helpful.

  I doubt I will drink much or in a bar as I seldom drink at all..lol I cannot remember the last time I had a beer. Hmm...It was about three months ago while playing in a Texas Hold` em tournament...Okay I guess I do remember...lol Yep I won 22nd place and got paid nothing..lol.

  I'm hoping that we have the apartment set up soon in Odessa so we can get on with firm arrangements but my buddy who is working a lot like myself is yet to finish. So far he has us set up with tickets from Houston to Kiev as well as medical insurance and cancellation insurance. He also has our tickets by air to Odessa paid for. All we need is the apartment and the return to Kiev train ticket. We figured it would be nice to take the train back and catch some sleep before heading out to Amsterdam for a 20 hour layover before returning to the states.

  I must have failed to mention my friend who is traveling with me is the one who was burned about twnty years ago and is all stoked up about helping this child who is also burned.
