SoC's trip report
« on: February 15, 2007, 03:11:19 PM »
It was a grey, dreary day in Baltimore. Our city had just recovered from a snow storm and temperatures well below 15 degrees farenheit.

I left home as usual with plastic bag in hand holding my single bottle of Arizona green tea. Today was to be different.

I encountered six very icy steps so I gingerly made my way slowly descending them one by one. Finally I was at a very icy walkway.

The ice was so thick today you could not use a snow shovel, you could only chip away at the ice slabs with a shovel with a very sharp edge.

As I made my way to the driveway I saw my car. Last evening I had cleared a pathway but was still having problems due to the icy conditions. Luckily, I was at the end of my driveway and I entered my car. After warming up the engine I placed the transmission in reverse.

The car actually moved with no tires spinning and I was on my way to work.

So maybe this is not a good trip report because I maintained my balance from front door to car. I did not trip one time. But this trip report is from front door to car.

All in all it was a good experienced and I was not scammed for money by local kids with snow shovels. They will make very little money shovelling this thick, solid ice.

My next trip report will be parking the car after work, reentering the house and hoping I can escape again tomorrow morning.

The weather forcast is dismal with no heatwave in sight. At least it is not Kansas.

Clyde,

From the Drudge report I saw that the "Senate Conference On Global Warming" meeting had to be cancelled because of the ice storm,,, am I the only one who sees the irony in that?

One would almost think that the constant cold weather coinciding with the Global Warming results of the international community were divine in nature.  Almost.
