Many may not know this but Miss Elen, is quite the photographer.
If she is not making money at it, I think she could.

Elena with the Canon D20 ( as well as some other cameras) you can have 1, 2, 3 extra light/flash sources.

The 420ex is a wonderful "slave" unit that works with the main flash untit, in my case the 580ex. The 580 is the master unit but you can add from one to three, maybe more but I think that's overdoing it a bit, extra flash sources.

The 420 flash device work off the master untit, they are all wireless units and they flash at the exact time as the master unit. I only have one 420ex but it really showed me what you can do with an extra light source coming from a different view on your subject. I am going to buy a second 420ex before my next trip. I will usually go to e-bay and pick up a new one, unused in original box. I think I paid about $270 for the 420ex I have and will probably spend in that same ball park, although hopefully cheaper, for an additional unit.

I think one or two of these will be all you need for your wedding photos.

Elen ~ For the circumstances you describe, to the best of my knowledge you NEED to use the flash built into the camera. For example, on my Minolta Vectis (APS SLR), the built in flash fires a burst of flashes to fix focus on obects in the dark and when focus has been found, fires the flash one more time to take the pic. Quite a strange thing to watch as the burst last for quite some time. Thing is, external flashes can not do the same thing,at least on my system.

Downside is that the range and coverage is somewhat limited, as is normal with built in flash guns. I would expect that a similar system was available on digital cameras, although as I am happy with my little pointy shooty I am not planning a change any time soon.

Elen, if you use the camera's built-in flash unit, you can easily get good photos in a disco.

If you use a flash (or draw attention to your camera) in a Russian disco, you soon will be introduced to several large Russian men, who will insist you no longer have a camera.  Seems that people don't like to have their picture taken when they are out with their mistress... :?
[/quote]Hee hee, that's funny :)  and true :) :0

you can also snap the picture without flash and then lighten it with photoshop by choosing the "curves" feature...  here is one example...

But only if you want to see what is in the dark :)

The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark.  michelangelo

Actually I need a digital camera for shorting at weddings, ther is no troubles with security but I though doubt built-in flash unit would solve problems with focusing at moving objects in a dark
Maybe you can try the Konica-Mimolta Dynax 7D ... a digital reflex camera... the body don't use a infrarood system for focus ( this can lead to false meeting with heat source in the field like with big candle )... the build in flash is only used for the focus in case of low light... a real flash is needed for photo...

9 meeting zone; iso : 100,200,400,800,1600,3200; 30s-1/4000s closing time; White point: auto, 6 fixed value, manual, Kelvin; image stabilasator with gyro-sensor....

Good box but around 1500 euro only for the body...

For good work, you need the body, flash, and objectif... this can become expensive... but the built in flash and the 9 meeting zone, resolve without problem the focus of moving object in the dark...
