Immigration parents

Does anyone have experience immigrating the parents of a Russian bride over to the USA?

Just curious how long such a thing would take (I have this nagglng feeling the answer is 5 years), and any other problems that might occur.

Of course, I realize I would need to house and provide for them, but thats not a problem.  Health care coverage might be, especially if they lived away from us - say taking care of a 2nd home for us.

The answer is,,,, you can't do it.  Only your wife can apply the I-130 on her wife's parents behalf.  I believe she can do it after she has her LPR (green card), and certainly she can do it after she gets USC after three years here.  How long is the wait after that is hard to say.  Since the parents are immediate family they would be in the shortest que for immigration, but it still may be a few years before they rise to the surface.

Wife will have to become a USC before applying for her parents. Then, it is the normal wait for approval and processing as an immediate relative of a US citizen.

So- 3 years after the first grant of LPR status so long as the marriage is still viable, processing time to NATZ, then filing of the I130 and processing time to IV.

Five years sounds about right.
