Emails with Russian girls! Help!
« on: May 30, 2007, 04:12:05 PM »
Hey guys..........I know this is such an old topic but i have to ask.It would take me hours to search through all the old posts. I am have never posted here and am new. I have been in contact with some Russian ladies over the last year or so. About ten of them. I met them through the big dating places, match, yahoo, ect. They say they live in the usa and then in emails say they couldnt register without saying they live here. I knew they were russians from there phots and the text in there profiles. Easy to spot! lol Just look for the girl not smiling! lol Heres the question. They all send the same emails! Each letter in progression is the same! All of them! I just talked to two new ones and they had almost identical letters. This is new to me though, they were orphans!
I'm sorry to post whats probably been on here a thousand times but is this normal? Are these the scammers? Or to save money at the "cafe" do they have pre written letters to save time? The problem is they dont seem to answer all your questions. Sometimes they have a little reply but then the "form letter" comes. All the same.
Is this the scam or normal. Seems very odd to me.
Any response from people who know would be appreciatied!
Monty

Red flag for sure, Monte.

Is it an illusion, or is it real?  I sorry to say it is both.

No short cuts.  No easy way.

Scammers for sure. You can have some fun with them if you want to- but sooner or later, the money letter arrives

montsaround,

Welcome to the RWD.

What you are experiencing is very normal,,, a great number of our members come to us with exactly the same question.  They get the same answer,,, "it's a scam", then they stick around and learn the ropes.  Many learn how to separate the wheat from the chaff, find a real woman, go visit her and end up married to a really wonderful girl.  However, crash and burn stories from men who didn't pay attention are also common.  It all just depends on how you want to learn your lessons, the easy way or the hard way.

All of those canned letters you are getting off your profile posted on one of those free dating sites are from scammers.  Simple con artists who aren't smart enough to compose a separate letter for each possible mark.  Even worse, if it's possible to be worse, evidence has shown that most of those letters come from men posing as women, the photos you are receiving were stolen off the web somewhere and the real girl has no idea her image is being used for illicit purposes.  We call him "Fat Yuri", or sometimes "Hairy Boris", but they are just con artists and thieves.  I suggest you terminate all correspondence with FSU pen pals not started by you.  The general rule of thumb is;  "If you didn't pick her out from a reputable agency web site yourself and initiate the relationship, it's probably a scam."  That may not be true 100% of the time, but it's true often enough to make you get really leery of any letters out of the blue from people you don't know.

Yep, these are the quick scams and the easiest to spot and are probably not even women writing to you.

Seems the hardest one to spot are the "slow developing pro daters"... they are the ones who really take what they do seriously. Each letter is custom crafted with great personalization, phone conversations are normal, but usually telling the man mostly everything she thinks he wants to hear.  This type of a scam goes on for months, with face to face meetings, everything seemingly "normal" to guys who wish to be duped (and there are many) - with who knows how many men on the hook at one time, each paying small monthly amounts for English Lessons, internet connection time, etc... nickels and dimes adding up to quite a profitable hours/income ratio for the lady and possibly her current Russian husband/boyfriend.

I've had small contact with a couple of ladies I thought were in this "pro dater" category... there was just a coldness about them sometimes when their guard was down which made me feel like something was amiss... that gut feeling will serve you well if you listen to it.

Dave

edit: another quick way to spot these quick scams is to look at the email headers... they will most always an email program such as The Bat! - while telling you they're writing from an internet cafe.  You can't label every woman with an email program as a scammer, because girls who correspond through an agency will almost always have one in the header because the agency sends the email, however, it's a good heads up to ask more questions.

I received this email from a lady listed on Elena's Models, she began the money whine about needing money for internet cafe to continue our wonderful correspondence which most assuredly lead to marriage and children.... I told her that my pecker was burned off in a strange acid accident, but that didn't really deter her much from the objective,  so I stopped writing to her and ignored her letters. About a month later, her profile was zapped from the site, which mean she was asking others for money as well.

Notice the xmailer... a lady in an internet cafe will be showing a web client, not Outlook, nor The Bat!, nor others...

Thanks Guys!
I am not stupid an recognized this but it is just hard to believer. Why and where do they all get the same letters to write? Like a I said........almost identical in there letters. I was writing two new ones and the third or fourth letters they both said they came to the USA for work traing. In the same city in Texas!  There has to be somewhere they get this stuff!
Maybe all the girls on yahoo and match and the really big one where i have met them is Lovehappens are fake. Seems sad.

Thanks for your input,

Monty

Two logical explanations:

1. One writer (probably not even a woman - as others indicated, Fat Yuri).
2. Different writers (women included), but graduated from the same "school" (http://www.russianwomendiscussion.com/index.php?topic=1834.msg36891#msg36891).

JB, if the men will follow this advice, poor Lily will stay single for life, as no one will reply on my letters of interest... :)

Monts,

the canned letters are a big red flag. If they have the same text, it is almost obvious sign for you to discontinue with the girls.

as far as I could observe in the forum, there are no guarantees against scam. Phone calls and webcamming can be good, but even if the girl is real, she still can use you as a milking cow for money.

When I started all of this, I had two women initiate contact with me.  One was real and one was a scam.  I ended up choosing the scam and now she's my wife.  Go figure!

If I find a man interesting for me, I will not hesitate to contact him first. I mentioned this earlier on RWD.

If I would wait for being contacted by men, I'd have zero boyfriend prospects now!

You think I would want to be president of Ukraine now?  Actually the real one was from Omsk, Russia, so maybe I would be giving Putin a run for the money.  By whatever twists and turns I found my wife, I couldn't be happier.  Just goes to show that sometimes we succeed in spite of ourselves

Mir, I don't think they would be queuing  :D

Thanks for the question...No news so far, apparently the mission has been prolongued...A part of people are back. I keep monitoring their website and calling the private phone line in his office. That's the only thing I can do.
