conditional visa renewal.

Hello everyone.

I have a question my wife has her permananet resident conditional green card. Acording to USCIS web site it says she must apply 90 days before the expired date so she can get her new card which will last for 10 years and not 2 years which she has now. Her card will not expired until next year in the summer. She was informed that she has to apply now this summer which is 1 year before the expred date. Can anyone informed me if this is true?

90 days prior to the expiration date on the card is the rule. Perhaps someone told her wife about the fee increase for this summer. . .
