I just received my NOA2 and wanted to know how long it took for some of you to get your VISA after that. Thanks!

See, now you should have at least enjoyed one day before stressing over the next step.  :D

If you're using the Moscow consulate it will likely take you about 3 months.

Chade1968,

We received the first notice in about a month.  About 6 months from submission to interview in Kiev.  We met in Thailand and Odessa dusing that time :).

Ruj, hopefully it will not take 6 months. I am planning a trip over Thanksgiving so it will help break up this time. Good luck to you.

Chade,

You can check the embassy's progress by comparing your petition number to those currently receiving interviews here: http://www.usembassy.ru/consular/iv_dates.php

If you know how to read your petition number, you can figure out the dates. Only K visas include the petition numbers so those that don't have this included are irrelevant for your purposes.

Example - the first K appointment listed as I post this is WAC-07-044-51202 and is scheduled for 18-Sep-07
service center|fiscal year|day of year-fiscal year starts Oct. 1|# of application filed that day, at that center
WAC|07|044 (Nov 13 2006)|51202

WAC=California
EAC=Vermont
MSC=Missouri (K-3 only)

Is there a link like this for the US embassy in Kiev? So I can compare!

If I take out the 5 months we spent in Administrative Review it was about 3 months.   Usually NVC is between a few days and a few weeks and the interview will be about 60-70 days after the Moscow Embassy recieves the paperwork.

Our NOA2:  2007-06-04

Interview:  2007-08-22
Visa:  2007-08-25

You should have your interview date soon if not already.  Any update for us?

Back to having fun in life!

Thanks for asking Maxxum.  Yes, we had the interview on September 11th.  It went very well.   She received the visa on September 17th.

To complete the timeline for those who are interested I never really received the NVC letter that most do but I belive we were approved at NVC on June 26 so we were about 10 weeks from that day to interview.
