There used to be four service centers processing the K visas.  Now, only two?  What kind of crap is this?

These two didn't have a big enough backlog, so they decided to fix that glitch  ;D

Anyone thinking that this will make the process any quicker is really sucking on a delusion. This is the USCIS. The perfect entity to F things up even when they are as clear as daylight. Congratulations if it works out right the first time. Condolences if it works out the way it normally does. Hello? Government.

William what would happen if I filed to remove conditions and were to move to another state?

This may happen if I file in Baltimore and we move next summer.

Will the files be transferred as long as I contact them ahead of time?

We will still use the Vermont Service Center but if there is an interview it will be in the state we are moving?

Yes- the case file will be transferred to the new jurisdiction if an interview is required.

NOTE- make sure that you have your forwarding address on file with the post office. USCIS seems to have some difficulty with address changes.

My packet was received by the Nebraska Center on July 16th and they forwarded it to the CA center.  Notice date July 23rd, if anybody is curious.  I'd say if you are running something through last minute, might as well file at the new places now.

Good advice, but also don't forget to file the required AR-11 form for change of address.

I had a change of address while my file was at the NVC.  I just called, spoke to an operator and she updated my address right then with no hassles.
