A new scam?

Whilst it's not directly related to FSUW it was disappointing to see this "dude" on the news tonight and the reporter adding the following comment at the end of the story:

"It's not Mr Gregor was involved in an Internet scam after he previously pursued marriage to a Russian woman"

The judgement comes mostly from people who have never met a RW or a man who was married to one.
Equal judgement is in Russia where WM who seek a bride are met with suspicions of recruiting for prostitution or as home slaves.
