Scots' Wa'hae!

I love this poem/song, wish I could link the music, by The Battlefield Band, song title Magheracloone/Norland Wind, 9:24 of quiet song, and loud Bagpipe. I lived in Scotland for a few years, and grew to love the pipes. But I tell u what, they are freaking loud in a room, burst your eardrums.

Here's the lyrucs in Scots dialect, not to hard to follow;

Ma feet, they travelled England, but I'm deeing fae the North
Ma man, I saw the siller tides run up the Firth o' Forth

I've spent a bit of time in Scotland myself - but I swear they speak two different languages there - both called "English". While I was reasonably able to communicate (most of the time) with the good folks in Edinburgh, I had no hope when I went to Glasgow - a mere hour away by train. I *could* manage to catch on to the odd phrase here and there, but for holding a conversation - not a chance.

 I'm glad you said "the American" language and not English, otherwise we'd have to listen to Ste go on about how he is speaking proper English (the Queens) and how us Americans are been butchering the language for over 200 years
