I also worried about the design....I'm used to locks having screws on the inside--not the outside!  Enlarge the last pic to see what I mean.

But hey, it was the third lock, so if someone can defeat the first two, the last one would be no problem, anyway

Similar model here... the screw that you see are only needed for keep the "garniture" in place... the real screw who keep the locks in place is located in a place that you cannot reach from inside or outside if the door is closed... the screw is located on the edge of the door. These screw secure the cylinder ...



and a mortise lock prep cut into the edge of the door for the lock itself...

So, close the door from inside with key... loose the key... and the only way to go outside is use a drill for destroy the cylinder and once these removed, use some screwdriver for activate the door mechanism... beware that some model of cylinder are secured again drill machine...

BACK IN THE USA

This trip report lingered, but now the time has come to end it.  We are home in the USA, and Marina and I have moved half way across the country to start a new job and and a new chapter in our life together.

As we start our second year together, we are closer than ever, and are truly enjoying life and appreciating how blessed we are.

Being back in Ukraine was a good experience, and I've noticed the comparisons have all but ceased. 

Our black lab has adjusted to his new surroundings, and has truly bonded with Marina.  Pets are really good for making a family of two into three, and gives Marina an opportunity to talk to someone in Russian    The dog seems to understand her, BTW 

My new job is challenging and time-consuming, as well as exciting.  So I'll exit RWD for awhile, to devote more time to my job.
