Here is what I posted to another site back in 2002 about dating women from the FSU.  I don't think much has changed before or since, so please read this with a grain of salt.  I edited sections that were not relavant to this discussion.

Investigate and invest in knowledge when it comes to any woman from a marriage agency or singles site. It is so difficult to determine the true intent unless they tell you up front.

Ask them a simple question: "Why do you want to leave the Ukraine?" or "Why would you want to leave your friends and family for a foreign country?"

Their answer should be something like: "Because I want to be with you." - or - "Because I want to live with you and be with you." - or - "Because I love you and will live anywhere you live."

Get the idea. They should never want to leave their country, friends, family or life just because it's too difficult or they can't find work. They shouldn't want to leave because it's too hot , cold or the people are stupid or everyone is crazy. If they're not happy where they're at then they won't be happy where they're going. Plain, simple, and honest truth.

People who aren't happy in the first place won't be happy any place. That's a univeral truth!!!
