How to prove that you are not a scammer
« on: May 26, 2005, 09:43:12 PM »
Thanks to the guy from from San Antonio, Texas area we get one more way to prove we are not a scammers
Quote

I have to tell you that I am corresponded with women from abroad over the
internet in the past. I had met someone online that I thought was a real
person and had written several times and received many photos. We had
decided to meet, and she was going to come to visit me. I offered to help
her pay for the expenses to get here. So I sent her some money. Well, that
is the last I heard from her. I lost over 1000 USD. I was very upset that
someone would do that to me
But, I am wanted to find my other
half, so I tried again. Then I met you. I care very much about you and think
that you would make a wonderful wife. But I will admit that I am afraid of
being hurt and cheated again. So... I am going to ask you to do something
for me to prove you are willing to really be together. What I would like is
a photo of you without clothes. Yes, I know this is a lot to ask of you. And
I understand if you think it is too much. But I am willing to do whatever it
takes for us to be together if I know you are willing to do the same. I want
to be with you as soon as possible. I hope that you feel the same about me.
Plus it would give me a chance to see what I have to look forward to for the
rest of my life.

what do you think about such proofs?
When they came for the trade unionists, I did not speak out; I was not a trade unionist. When they came for the Jews, I didnt speak up, because I wasn't a Jew. When they came for me, there was no one left to speak out.

Sounds very reasonable. I am surprised he didn't mention in what poses he wanted her do for the photos.

There are allot of nuts out there. This is one of them.

I think he wrote it sarcastically to a RW as he assumes now that they are all scammers. If he wasn't sarcastic, then he is one disturbed person.

Kvinna,

Unless I'm completely confused, no one can certify they aren't scammers without a face to face meeting.  Any man willing to commit to a relationship before a real life meeting is a 14ct gold plated fool.

Unfortunately there are far too many such lonely men.  More unfortunately, there are a ton more women will to take advantage of these suckers.  Thus there's a scammer born every minute.

Being in the gold business I would say 14 ct should be spelled 14 kt. A kt or karat is used for gold. A karat is 1/24ths gold as alloyed. 14 kt is 14/24th or 58.333% pure gold with the rest being base metals. 24 kt is 100% pure gold.

ct or carat is for diamonds as in the four c's; cut, clairity, color and carat (wieght).

[/quote]Are you so brain dead that you believe that because one person posted this letter that this guy is a jerk? Did you ever think that what he said could be true and that he replied angrily and sarcastically to the next women he wrote? Are you so brain dead to believe that what Kvinna said is not true? What she say may very well be the truth.  All I tried to say is that there are different possiblities. I do not know this guy, neither do you and neither does Kvinna. He very well could be a jerk and a pervert. He also could be angry and feeling hurt. You need to wake up and accept all possibilites. By the way, the bridge is still up for sale, and you are the top bidder.

I appreciate the offer, but it looks as if I won't be traveling down that road (for further infor look at my post K-2 Visas under Immigration and Visas) "Alas for parting is such sweet sorrow". But I digress, if an oppertunity happens to present itself I will most definitely keep you in mind sir.

Kvinna,
I think most guys see that 'proof' as ridiculous, silly, and a joke.
Hopefully RW will also see it that way.

"I am corresponded with women from abroad" and "I am wanted to find my better half."

Does this sound grammatically like something an American man would write?

Maybe it is a Russian woman poking fun at American men.

Son of Clyde,

Very good point.

Kvinna,

Can you substantiate the source of this "letter" from "San Antonio"?  It looks suspicious to me also.

I think you need to offer a little more evidence regarding the source of this letter.  Maybe it is an actual letter, but the grammer and "directness" of it causes it to look suspicious.  To me, it reads almost like what a Russian man (or woman) might write to harrass a local girl.

I speak from experience.  Nearly two years ago, a Russian person in Ukraine (possibly a man or a woman) discovered a way to anonymously interfere in a budding relationship I had started with a very nice lady.  Afterwards, I heard of several other cases of similarly nefarious meddlings in happy RW-WM relationships by other local Russian people.  Several RW have told me about a kind of compulsion within Russian society to sabotauge the potential success or happiness of others.  Lots of mischeviousness.

Kvinna, I do invite your further thoughts and evidence on this matter.  If it is an American, or any kind of authentic letter from a "deceived man," I'll join the others in their criticisms.  But, if it not such (and instead a nasty prank), it wouldn't be the first time that has happened.

Such pranks could be committed by anybody (men or women).  However, again, it is the grammatical construction that make it likely that it is not from a native English speaker.  Actually, the grammatical error is a typical mistake made by Russians who are less than fluent in English.

Again, more evidence is needed to pass judgment.
