Going to Ukraine
« on: October 22, 2007, 07:14:07 PM »
I am planning a trip to go to Ukraine for vacation sometime next year. Any advice on places to go, how to approach the women there, and any other things you all might have. Thanks.

You may have extra difficulty in attracting a woman to live in Japan. Not impossible though ,just alittle harder.   Curious why you want to visit Ukraine, when Russia is so close to you.  I would think cities like Vladivostok would be more appealing to a FSU woman, moving to Japan.
I can tell you many UA women I have met, don't want to live in a non white country. I'm not trying to kill your plans, just giving you what I have come to know from Ukrainian women.

This is a paste from a post I did before on Odessa :

Odessa is a good city, but like all cities it's what you make of it. If your looking for things to do, you can take in the history ( pre USSR) visit the catacombs however it is rather uninteresting for the amount of time involved in traveling there.
You should check out 7km , it's  huge beyond any market you have ever been to !   There you can get all kinds of things that aren't found back home.

The dolphin show down at the sea coast ( Shevchenko Park ) is another unique event. The show has pyro ,seals ,and of course dolphins. prices range up to $12 per seat. Afterwards you can have your photo taken with the dolphins for about $6 ,bring your own camera though.
The city parks are mostly the same, fairly neglected with few services except of course the cafe's.
Another interesting step back in time would be to go down to Luna Park. It's an amusment park with all the rides dating back to the 80's !  I kid you not !  Mick ,Tina, Madonna and some 80's one hit wonders are still on the rides !   I always wondered where those old rides retired to
You can take in Arkadia ,it's a area that has night clubs (summer season) and some cafes and games to play.
 Enjoy !

I heard Ukraine is so beautiful to visit. But I am thinking about Vladisvostok more and more lately especially that people here are referring me to try to visit ther. Its really close and it looks like a good city to visit.

I appreciate the input. Thanks.

In addition to flights, I believe there's a ferry that can take you from Tokyo to Vladivostok. If you want the lay of the land, look in the Trip Reports section for Muckraker's TR.

You may have extra difficulty in attracting a woman to live in Japan.

I have met a number of women attracted by traditional Japaneses culture in Ukraine...but in Kiev. So I am not sure this is so difficult ...
