Gifts to take to Russia?
« on: December 05, 2007, 01:35:08 PM »
I would like to leave the debate of my other post aside for a second, and ask a simple question. I am going to Russia in 12 days. I will staying in an apartment with my Russian friend, and her family. She has her own apartment, but there has been a delay on the final phase of construction. So, for a good part of my trip I will be staying with Mama Papa, and my lady friend in their 2 bedroom apartment. They are planning a big party for my arrival, and Mama is planning to stuff me with her good home cooking. I would like to take some gifts from American that will be appreciated by the household. Does anyone have some good suggestions.? I don't want to spend a fortune on a bunch of things, but I want to show respect, and honor their hospitality. Also Mama's birthday will occur while I am there on my visit, so I want to get her something as a birthday gift. Like I said, all suggestions will be appreciated. Is there anything that is prohibited to take into the country, besides things that are illegal here in the states? One more question is, what amount of alcohol can I take from America into Russia? Thanks,
Koluji Ezhik)))

Peanut Butter:
Pancake Mix and Maple Syrupy.
Listeren Breath mint strips.
