Hi Ste,

We all ok, thank you. We haven't managed to get hold of some of our friends but we pray they all ok. One of them is a Tube driver!. My sister and I were very close to the incident scenes this morning. Twice. We were on the underground when the first two bombs went off. We didn't know what was going on, they just announced that there has been a power failure and that the whole underground was suspended. I remember thinking that it was so weird, never happened to me before and feeling quite claustrauphobic and just wanting to get out. It was VERY crowded. We were told to get  a bus so we did. We were on a bus, when another bus was blown out, in about 10 minutes drive from us. When we got off the bus we found ourselves in the epicentre. Dozens of police and ambulance cars, helicopters. Still didn't know what was up, except a girl on a street telling us that she had heard a bang. We found everything out pretty soon after that and then we got scared. I couldn't get to work and decided to walk home: all the public transport was suspended by then. It was a very long walk, because loads of streets were blocked off. It took me over two hours to get to the place where Mark could get to pick me up (good job I decided not to wear high hills today!) It took us another two hours to get home. Shortly afterwards we had drive back to London again and rescue our family members who were trapped in London. It's now after midnight and we just got home after getting everybody home safely. What a day. I am going to have a shot of vodka and go to bed. It will all sink in tomorrow.

Steve, i hope your friend (and our friends) are ok.

Good night everyone.

Just what I thought would happen - I went to bed but couldn't f*** sleep!

Thanks bbernard, yes it was some experience. Saw a lot of people crying on the streets today, while being on the phone trying to find out out about their loved ones. Mobile phones weren't working because networks were overloaded with phone calls, long queues to the phone boxes... I have to say police force and medics were amazing. I talked to about 10 of them and they were SO helpful. They weren't just dealing with the consequences of the incidents but explaining directions to hundreds of people who were trying to get home by foot. What an amazing human beings.

Couldn't help but remember when I travelled to Russia a few years ago and asked local militia in the airport what bus goes from Sheremetyevo 1 to Sheremetyevo 2, and the way they treated me. F**** idiots full of themselves and their importence.

I take my hat off to British police force. And I have to say I love English people and I love this country and I love this city.

God save good people.

Missing mate checked in this morning as if nothing had happened! He was stuck in a train in a tunnel near Moorgate - had to walk down the track.

M&M, ur English is full of UK idioms!! You're a bleedin' Cockney!

With a little bit.
With a little bit,
With a little bit of bloomin' luck!

Glad ur OK!

Steve,

Thank God I have Mark to explain me this little song! I don't talk like Cockney though - people say I have quite a posh accent, my dear boy!  I am a Russian LADY, my good man!:D

I am glad your mate is ok. We are still trying to get hold of two of our friends. The underground this morning was absolutelty desserted during the normal rush hour.

My wife has two or three old school mates from Moscow living in London, as well as one of the gals here who has a sister living there, they were on the phone for hours yesterday until they had touched base with everyone.

Thank God all are accounted for and well.

Here's a little show of solidarity, yesterday we were all Brits.

I second JB!   I hope all loved ones are safe, the carnage abates, the terrorists are captured and most importantly incidents like this never happens again!

I checked a few friends in London yesterday and they're ok.  I used to live in Southgate and took the tube almost daily.  I can't tell how many times I was on a double bus and saw packages left behind.  Take the 104 to Kings Cross..

I'm very relieved to hear that everyone is OK. I was in an internet cafe in Simeiz (south Crimea) on Friday afternoon when I heard about it, took me back to 9/11 again. None of the Russian and Ukrainian vacationers in Simeiz seemed to know anything so it was a bit frustrating.
