Hello, my name is Randy. I just joined RWD, and I wish all of you the best

I'm perhaps a little different from some newbies. I've been to the former Soviet Union eight times, excluding the many visits I made to Lithuania while I was living in Poland in 2004-5. I also almost married a Russian woman, but it didn't work out, and met several others. I'm thinking of going back to the FSU to look for a potential mate, so I've joined this group. I hope all of you had a happy New Year, Novy Got, and look forward to future discussions.

Welcome Randy, and although you might know a lot of it, still try to read the FAQ and do some searches.
After all you will always be able to find some new things about RW that you never knew before.

Thank you all. I think I've already broken all of the 10 commandments--wish I had known them in 1997 when I started my search. I do know a great deal about Poland, in addition to the former FSU, as I was there for 11 months while teaching English. I'm also familiar with Lithuania--in fact, I believe it has the highest percentage of beautiful women of any country I've ever been to.

Here's a question for you Randy. Do you get the feel the ethnic Lithuanian/Baltic women are not as open to foreign marriage as the RW? Based on looking at the international dating/marriage websites, much of the women, based on their last names, are Russian instead of ethnic Lithuanians, Estonians, and Latvians.

I believe it.  My first experience with FSU women was in 2001 with a Lithuanian woman I met in Chicago.  She introduced me to her friends and we even went to Catholic mass once because Elena wanted to attend the free immigration discussion put on by one of the sleasiest lawyers I've ever seen.

I don't know if the stereotypical Russian or Ukrainian woman is all that much different from the Lithuanian woman other than that the Lithuanian woman (or Latvian or Estonian) is much less likely to marry for a passport.  Also, the one Lithuanian woman I met was Catholic while it seems most RW/UW are Orthodox.
