heh, it was gone by 10am... but a great night. Here it turns into a neighborhood block party.. the girls make hot cocoa, the guys sneak off and spike it with something, the kids (and us quite old kids) all do the most insane nonsense for the few hours it lasts.  We're supposed to get "hit" again on Saturday.. very unusual... and will probably miss us as usual.

Shadow: I thought you lived in a real winter area.. a fluke warm trend? or do I need to study geographical weather patterns?

Serebro: 30 cm of snow sounds like a blast.. I'd spring for a snowmobile in a nanosecond and fly around like a lunatic... but those temps you have in Kazan... I think I'd have to watch out the window and then hibernate until spring..  ;D  I don't see how you ladies walk around in those high heeled boots on rock solid sheets of ice and never miss a step.. impressive indeed.

No need to go that far Dave. Come on over. Plenty of snow here. Heck, they've even got snowmobile roads/tracks with signs so you know where the road is.

Dave better study geography  :P
As my little country is close to the sea, climate tends to even out a lot between seasons.
We have our famous 'elfstedentocht' for skaters, but it can be held only about every 10-15 years as in other there is not enough ice to support all skaters.

My friend was living in Orlando back in the late 70's. He phoned me one day to tell me he had a snowball fight with his wife. There was just enough snow to cover the cars so he made a snowball went into the apartment and threw it at his wife.

Daveman---
Did you make your run to Kroger yet? All of the milk, bread and beer is probably gone by now. I am at work on the south side of ATL now---everybody has Weather.com pulled up and checks the radar every 10 minutes :D

SoC--I remember living in Tampa 20 years ago when it snowed--about 1/2"---was gone by nightfall

LoL!  Rob, Isn't that Kroger run the most ridiculous thing?  I swear, a single snowflake falls and people here rush the grocery stores as if it'll house bound us for a month.  I think the grocers must pay a premium for subliminal advertising on the weather channels.

SoC, Funny too, I was in N. Fla in the late 70's when a bit of snow hit there.  I believe it was in March of 1980 and the same storm dropped about 4-6 inches of real snow on Altanta. (Don't ask how I measured it).

Shadow, this just goes to show that I'm growing less ignorant of my true ignorance every day. We see the ice skating, and of course, ASSUME it's a near arctic climate.

Ken, On my way man... get out the plastic army men and hotwheels! We gotta build snow tracks and war zones!

Remember the Bill Cosby routine when he put a snowball in his freezer and waited for the hottest day of the year to use it?
