Yes, it seems tangential to the theme of RWD - but consider this:

* Conventional 'wisdom' from many at RWD states that men from western countries, such as Britain, are ONLY successful with younger women because they come from less-advantaged circumstances - such as those in the FSU.
* I doubt if anyone would consider Sweden in the same category of impoverished nations as one might consider the FSU countries.
* This story is about a man from Britain (WM) who travels to Sweden to have sex with young, in some cases minor-aged, women/girls. In the process, infecting them with HIV.

My point is - we read about THIS instance ONLY because of the newsworthy HIV angle. Is it possible that WM are, in fact, quite successful when traveling to other countries, even those with established and strong economies - and meeting women?

I submit it is entirely possible. In fact likely. Just my NSHO.

Isn't it interesting how the Reticular Activating System of the brain operates?

Some people would feel sympathy to all the women who are now afflicted with a life-long and deadly disease. I do.

Other people might be interested in how often WM visit women from other western countries - serving to undermine one of the stereotypes often mentioned here at RWD. I am.

And then, there are those who seem to feel I am picking on people from the UK. I guess if the cretin had been from Germany, it would not have elicited this response. I can honestly say that the fact this guy is a Briton had absolutely no significance to me, except that Britain male citizens count amongst the "WM" mentioned here at RWD in the very same stereotype I referenced.
