Fiance' Interview
« on: January 26, 2005, 06:14:35 AM »
I just recieved notification of approval from the USCIS site in
Nebraska in regards to my fiance' visa appication. The lady who is
planning to be with me is 32 years old, married once before and a
life long resident of Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Can anyone tell me more
about what to expect in terms of the timing, the place, the medical
exam, the questions asked, the required documentation especially income verification ( I own my own business) and the required police report. I am also interested in any general feedback that may help me to plan and prepare prior and anticipate what to expect in regards to the interview process.  I am particularly concerned about the ease and timing of getting the required police report since my fiance' had an aquaintance who had difficulty with this issue because it got bogged down in the local police beauracacy.
Sincerely,

David C.

David,

Here is the best information I can find:

* Your fiance's interview will be in Almaty, Kazakhstan
* Once your Application is approved by Nebraska, it only takes a few weeks to process through the National Center and get to Almaty.
* From there, it is probably only a month or so till your fiance will receive the Packet 4 materials which she needs to complete and have ready for the interview
* Another month (approximately) to the interview.
* Possibly a small delay in issuance of the visa, though it is normally the same day as the interview.

Unfortunately, some of these steps are rather variable.

Please note, I have no direct experience with the Embassy in Almaty. There *is* a website that may be of some additionaly help to you. It is -- http://www.visajourney.com.

I hope this helps.

- Dan
