Well, I decided to change avatars. Took off my sweetheart and put up my son. No change of feeling but just a change of choice. This particular photo was the touchdown pass that broke the school freshman passing record.

Now he has been promoted to Varsity and has been named the starting quarterback for next season( he will play as a sophomore starter). This promotion also means that football now starts on January 5 for us. The zero period (645AM) is when the varsity skill positions practice.

When I was playing, we just showed up for conditioning in the first week of August. . . . .

William, I was wondering why you pulled your sweetie for football players, but that certainly
explains it. Good luck to your son. What a feat - starting Varsity QB as a sophomore.

You must be proud and should be.  Make sure he sticks to the books, you got to be a smart ball player too.  Especially a QB, ahh the good old days and the next generation to remind us of them.

Football is a religion here in Texas, my town has a 20,000 person stadium and fills it from what I hear.  Oh, I mean American Football now got to get used to that one.  Although maybe not, they got to call it soccer from now on.  When in Rome right?

That is a nice one that you put up. It seemed like it would have a special meaning and it looked very similar to other propaganda  posters that i have seen. Thanks for the explanation.

This will be his ninth year of tackle football- 6th at quarterback. I exposed him to year round sports early. He was a hell of a DE for the first 6 years but he lost out playing both ways when they realized he could throw long distance with accuracy.
