Anyone who has ever spent much time in Kiev and any time Obriens would've probably known Mr Reed. He was a special forces veteran of Viet Nam,but more importantly he was a very good man. I always enjoyed our conversations. I'm sure many of you that have been there might know him from his writings in "The Observer".  He was certainly a gentleman. He died of cancer here in the states after returning here for treatment at the veterans hospital. There is a story about him in this weeks "Kiev Post".
