The remark was meant partially tongue in cheek and I apologize if it offended.  Maybe better next time to throw me out a PM to clarify my intent rather than just lash back and initiate an off-topic sugfest?

Thank you. I accept your apology. It is the problem with forums and the internet. Intent is often hard to decode  :) Спасибо!

AM drink just as much as RM.

# Alcohol is the number 1 drug problem in America.
# 43% of Americans have been exposed to alcoholism in their families.
# Nearly one out of 4 Americans admitted to general hospitals have alcohol problems or are undiagnosed alcoholics being diagnosed for alcohol related consequences.

I think both societies have their own demons.  Some similar, some different.  How many kids are growing up here with the Nintendo WII,PS3, and DS as a babysitter?  How many cars do you see at night now with a DVD glowing in the back?

My neighborhood is full of empty parks and ball fields now.  We got to worry about protecting children from everything.  Parents are wearing themselves out doing it.  No going out from breakfast until the street lights come on anymore.

I am not sure it is that way in the FSU, I saw plenty of kids running around and playing.  A lot more than I see here in the USA anymore.

I think there is plenty of soul searching to be done, before I waste too much time criticizing.  The one thing about the cold war is it took both sides and we weakened ourselves trying to be stronger than the other.

There are different classes of people in FSU countries as there are in the US and one tends to stay within their social class and see a country from that perspective. That said, the men on the forum and a few women who have a commercial interest in men thinking RM are terrible, are talking about one class a small class that has an equivalent in the US or other countries.
The men I know are nothing like the men on this list claim. For example based on use of language and reasoning skill, the Russian men I know are better educated or have more interest in the intellect. The men I know here are good humored, kind hearted, social and well adjusted. They are successful, energetic, and a joy to be around. I am sure there are some men like that in the US but a smaller percentage than the population centers of Russia.
The young men in particular are optimistic and loyal friends to us women, have passions for sport, business, study and culture. I go out frequently for socializing and comparing public behavior with other Europeans or Americans they are sober, reasonable and patient, they do not get into fights or arguments over trivial non-issues as I have seen in the US and England where the weekend past time is to get drunk. The World Health Organization backs me up on that with the per capita alcohol consumption in Russia is lower than the EU average and 3 times less than Luxembourg, and much less than Finland. That is the Russia and the Russian men I know. Where you find such poor example?
Please do not expect to find gems in gabage cans, a class by class comparison of your neighborhood and Russian classes might embarrass you.

Class is really important and locals know who to tell from long distances, as you might be able to in your city. But you have no idea when visiting a different country that has many more classes that tend not to intermarry or socialize. Find a class most similar to yours and search within that one and you will likely find much more compatible women.
When men and women tell others "there are no good men[or women] here[or any country]" they are not saying there are literally now good men, there are no good men available of my class, in this neighborhood, who accept me.
The same exact thing is said and meant in the US. There are more compatible women in your country than here in Russia yet you think that you can escape the confines in your country by going somewhere ALL hot looking girls you think are compatible. That is a recipe for very bad times. Learn more about the culture, there is a reason good women or good men pass on opportunities with randon girl or guy you think is hot. But you will not know until it is too late.
Overall, young people are more social, better educated and well-mannered here, so if you are not seeing that, you should seriously consider where and in which pool you are fishing.

I spent one summer on the beach in Crimea and one of the most striking things I noticed was the overall good behavior of the young people who were vacationing there.  In contrast to the scenes of Spring Break we see here in the US, I saw no such generalized wild and irresponsible behavior by the young people there.  Sure, there were those occasions where someone had drunk too much, but in most cases his friends were helping him home to sleep it off rather than helping him find another bar.  And of course there were those episodes of drunks sleeping it off on the beach. I may have been one of them - not sure, that night's still kind of foggy.

The men I hang around in Russia are academics and government officials. Most have their доктор наука degree. Any evening spent with a group of men from Russia's most educated class invariably involves a couple of bottles or more of vodka or cognac. They do not get drunk (I try not to), but we do end up pounding back a lot more alcohol on average than I would with people from Canada from the same social class  :rolleyes2:

LOL Scott.. you must be a pure blood.. again I refer you to Kazantip.  Drugs and sex and rock and roll.  (rave) http://www.kazantip.com/

This event is kind of like the FSU answer to BurningMan, though, much mroe commercial in nature.  But, at the end of the day it is a drunken music orgy full of naked young people.

BTW.. I would not recommend this event to Americans who are not conversant in Russian and not familiar with rave culture.  In fact, I would advise "rookies" to stay the heck away.

Also Scott.. and anyone else who might know.. it is my understanding there are numerous "naturist" groups that spend the summer in Crimea in private locations.

Comparing Yalta behavior with Florida, Texas and Cancun spring break destinations is silly.. the real party happens elsewhere... and it is no less wild.

Sorry if drug induced orgies are not my thing and not my idea of a "real" party. I guess I have better things to do with my brain cells.

To even attempt to cite Kazantip as an example of Ukrainian youth's typical behavior is really stretching it.  You'll find that most participants there are NOT from Ukraine.

There are indeed some naturist sites in Crimea, some private and some not so private.  They might be too tame for you, though, because to them, being naked is not an excuse to have an orgy.

Maybe you should read again, he said "music orgy".
