It is of no help to 'Mr Average American' to swaggering over to Russia with the idea that becasue he is from the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave that he is inherently superior and a better catch. Complacecny will lead to overexpectation and poor choices

I agree :)

I don't expect that YOU did, but that was the thrust of the article I posted and what I was commenting upon.

But, my problem is much more that by promoting, to Americans, the concept that women are seeking a soul mate in America because Russian men are pigs and boors, or violent alcoholics is no help to Americans at all - if for no other reason than it gives them the wrong idea before they even get started. It is of no help to 'Mr Average American' to swaggering over to Russia with the idea that becasue he is from the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave that he is inherently superior and a better catch. Dear Andrew, I want to thank you on behalf of all the misguided AM for taking such a personal interest in our well being. :D

Me, I didn't care much for the article because it is simply one lady's experience, which differs so sharply from what I have been more fortunate to have seen and experience.  For one to offer such "expert" advice, it would really help if the author was an expert and not just a participant like the rest of us... IMO.

I am happy that you are happy. ;)

It is by reading stuff like that that we become 'misguided'! If this is all we get to see, agency hype, self serving pablum and post facto self justifications then guys will continue to ruin their lives and those of the women they think 'love' them.

You have commented that it does not match your experience, it does not match mine, but there are thousands upon thousands of guys whose only 'experience' is what they glean from articles such as this.

Should we say nothing when we see such stuff? The only question in my mind is whether I should comment upon it on RWG. Perhaps I should, but would I be wasting my time?

Andrew, why not give it a try.  As long as you are not upsetting the paid advertisers no problem posting over there.

Dosto - feminists are advocating a change of the social system.  The extreme feminists do not need men, only their sperm for their test tube babies at age 39.  The main point is that feminism and family really do not go together.

You advocate what the average American woman says, which in practice means a domineering b@tch.  So you want your husband to have your baby as well???

Andrew ~ I think it would be quite entertaining to predict who the first dozen or so defenders of the article would be/say.  However, just for laughs, don't disclose that reference you posted here until after the know-it-all experts have said their piece ;)

Given my reputation, it might be better if somebody else made a post...

If I were to suggest that sugar is sweet there is a fair caucus of people there who would instantly tell me it was sour and that any suggestion that it was otherwise was a slur upon all American growers of sugar cane!

Maybe so - but it wouldn't be coming from this direction.

Andrew, I too think you are a bit OTT at times, but your logic is difficult to dismiss, and your intellectual attitude is worthy of admiration.

If I were to offer anything it might be to suggest you consider that some degree of romanticism (is that a word?) is OK. That there is room in the world for many different perspectives and what is beautiful (or not) in your eyes may look exactly the opposite in another's - and that does not make them wrong (nor you right).

In other words - a plea for tolerance - and request for your continued participation.

Cheerio!

- Dan

Those who know me might well think I was quite romantic. The bottom line is that the MOB business is just that, a business. If I were to be all spoony to my clients, they would rape me, the same in the MOB industry.

The time for romanticism is when the business is done.

If I am too objective in this area of my life, it does little to overpower the overwhelming and cloying smell of roses and honey that pervades ALL of the fora in which the MOB business is discussed with foreign men/clients!

Who's talking about extremes? I'm talking about regular things that every woman is entitled to. As for kids, no I don't want to have kids yet. I think I'm too young for kids and definitely not emotionally ready. Plus, I need to have some kind of career, don't want to depend on my husband completely. :) If you call a person like me a bitch, whatever..your point of view.  I guess you haven't seen what a real bitch is :D It will be fun for my husband to read this one since he thinks I'm not independent enough and always encourages me to work more in that direction.

Romantic love is a form of love that is often regarded as different from simply sexual love, or lust. Romantic love generally means both an emotional and sexual love, as opposed to Platonic love. There is more emphasis on the emotions than on physical pleasure.
