I've been away for a while.
« on: June 04, 2009, 09:31:16 PM »
To KenC and Scott, hang in their guys. You guys have been around these parts for a while and I'm very sorry that your situations have changed. Tomorrow morning I take my mother-in-law to the airport. She's certainly overstayed her welcome this go around. The first few weeks is tolerable but after that she cant pull herself to humble down in the slightest. My  solid golden nugget, string of pearls advice to all is do not let your mother-in-law stay too long. My mother-in-law would love nothing more than Katy and I divorce and her move back to their village on the outskirts of Kharkov. We've been married almost 6 years this September. We have a beautiful baby girl and one more on the way in January.

Having my M-I-L visit us is the single most aggravating focking experience I've ever had to endure in my life. She absolutely loves trying to drive a wedge between us. The thing about it is she cant. I've always been a very competitive person. My M-I=L has been here 6 times and each time she returns home to her flat without her daughter in tow. I might have to act a little sad tomorrow but inside I'm absolutely elated. I should win husband of the year and there really isnt a close second.

We just returned from a small cruise to Key West and Nassau. We took some my exchange students along as well. It was great. It looks like we might be going back to Ukraine in Sept. We went last Sept and it rained the entire 13 days we were there. This thing just keeps rolling along. It seems like forever since I made my first trip to The FSU in 2001. If my M-i-L ever gets her wish there is no way in hell I would ever marry another RW again. It's like trying to build a lunar module. It takes much hard work and patience. I'm set for life but it's not as easy as it sounds. I got extremely lucky. There is such a wealth of advice on this forum. Do your homework guys. It's not a walk in the park on a warm sunny day but the good times are very good.

Your MIL will tell all the village what a great prize you are, and that she wants to return to you as soon as possible.  ;)

Everyone's different! My wife's mother visited us in Alaska for 8 weeks last summer, she's a great lady and is very happy for her daughter. Also Anna's Grandmother supports our marriage :)

My Granny loved my better half.   She called him ....ушка -  it was very sweet and it stuck.   :)
