My petition for fiance visa was received on April 27. Today I received Notice of Action (I797C)

The waiting game process has now begun. I went to the government site to attempt to find out how long applications are taking until consulate meeting.

Can anyone help with where I have to go on the government site to find out this information?

In the perfect world I am hoping that she will be here for the Thanksgiving holiday and Christmas season.

It depends on which center you applied to and they do vary. Expect 6-8 months. Some even happen earlier. Here's the website http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis and it does take a little navigating but you can get email alerts on your case and get a general idea on how long your wait.

Jake, you're probably better off going to visajourney.com and comparing wait times of those who used the same service center as you did. Look in the Forum for recent personal experiences. The USCIS stats on wait times were odd, at least during the time when I filed my K1 (Aug. of 2006). According to USCIS stats, when I filed my K1 the average wait time for the VSC was about 6 months. Imagine how shocked I was when I received my NAO2 in three weeks

Thanks for the information on the two suggested sites. I checked them both out. There is a lot of useful information to be absorbed. Unfortunately, its getting late and my brain is in non absorbtion mode. I will spend time tomorrow looking over the statistics and projections. Thanks again----
