Skype is good and has both video and text as does Yahoo and a couple others. I'd recommend you get several as you need them. Skype, msn, yahoo and icq might be the most popular

ok, wow....  do any of these people go outside and "do" stuff?  Or just sit on the computer all day & night? 

If I do find someone thats worth dedicating my time to constant computer correspondence with (which i hope i do)...... then Im gonna definatly need to cut back my calorie intake!

FP pretty much gave them to you in best order too. Put on a couple and tell the gals your ID and that you can be contacted on them then sit back for a few days and see if they are going to call you. If they don'tr move to the next gal.

CR, you might want to starty limiting your search to some of the major cities where EVERYONE has trheir own computer. This helps you eliminate that BS line from some supposed farm girl saying she has no PC access.

Facebook isn't very popular. Vkontakte.ru is...... pretty much a Copycat of Facebook and is the most popular website in Russia. Why don't you Register?

vkontakte.ru is the most popular website in Saint-Petersburg. There certainly are some users from other regions and cities, but most of them prefer odnoklassniki.ru  Still, recommendation to use vkontakte.ru is excellent as their beta version exists in English and copies facebook closely.

vkontakt is less reliable than it was even a year ago.  there are starting to be a lot of spam and phishing attempts.  Be carefull using it.

Facebook isn't very well known yet, but, there are groups from russia in various cities.  might be worth checking out.  I think I am in a group that discusses the Moscow Metro.

ICQ is widely used.

I would also say sitting at home all day on the computer, especially this time of year, is a lot less common than it is in the US.

are these dating  or more pop social networking sites? and you sayvkontakte.ru exists in english, do you mean everything is translated to english via program.  Even personal messages?

vkontakt is a social networking site.  I am sure it would be possible to arrange dating though.  The itnerface is in english, but, if a message is sent in russian it will appear in russian.  You have to use google or some other translator.  On the other hand.. it seems LOTS of ladies on that site have some ability to communicate in English.

I like using it as a contrast to what you find on marriage sites.  Obviously it is somewhat less edited and, with the exception of the normal internet dishonesty, is more honest.  If that makes any sense.. lol

I've found that yahoo messenger is very popular, even over the ICQ. ICQ has too0 many issues with performance and security.

Skype is almost a must.

When calling Ukraine to a cell phone it has the cheapest rates and the best and most reliable connection.

If doing net video conferencing, it is far and above the others video quality.

My communication bill , even with using skype would be 300 - 500 a month speaking with Alyona.

Yes they do but since you are online with 200 different women a day for ten minutes each you are kinda out-timed :)

They say, "Hi Stud, I had a good day shopping. Like my new Guchi bag? I have to go now, bye!" And they are gone while you are left staring at the puter screen waiting for your next five minute fix. Don't try to tell me it ain't so cause I know better :)
