  I bet that scared the bejesus out of the locals. There not used to tornados like we are in the midwest. I had a funnel cloud go over me years ago. Touched down about a mile later. Very scary.

my lady is about a 3 hour car ride east and south of Moscow in the town of Kaluga, and she was trying hard not to get too freaked out about this. Her mother and her 9 yo son returned from their dacha to stay at the apartment in fear of the worst.

In 2004 and 2007 there have been similar events.

Intersting thing is that just last week there was a big thunder storm with heavy rain that flooded roads and caused damage in Holland and Germany.
As I have noticed before that the weather in Moscow seems to arrive one week later I actually predicted a storm would be there, which MrsShadow thought was crazy at the time. Seems that next time I can warn the Moscovites to close their windows and hide in the basement. :)
