Newsweek article on the new anti-Americanism in Russia

Great article that will lead to a good discussion tonight over the dinner table.  The wife is a proud supporter of Putin and all that he has done to improve Russia.  I'm definitely not a fan, and often ask her "at what cost" do these improvements come?

Young Russians also enjoy the same Internet as their Western contemporaries.
Also, for the increasing part of young people, Internet is the main source of the information.  I.e. federal TV has little influence on the opinion of young Russians.
This is their independent experience and a choice.

p.s. Advertising of cigarettes at the end of video for youth and about youth is nasty thing

"Great article"

Really?  It was sensationalist journalism, painting the picture that a small minority of young Russians feel the way they all do.  Most Russians have a lot of apathy towards "США" and the West in general.  Most young (non gopnik) nationalist leaning Russians are more concerned about Middle Asians and Ukrainians before they can even bother caring about Americans.

"Putin youth"

Seriously this article is laughably bad.
По всему Кавказу про нас слава ходит, наш дедушка, наш Ермолов на всех страх наводит.

An American magazine accusing Russian youth of "group think". Now that is rich.

I think the US is the greatest country in the world but I've come to realize that American style democracy works good in the US but not necessarily anywhere else.
