Need info and help for Simferopol and other Crimea info
« on: September 01, 2009, 10:48:40 AM »
I have just posted by introduction in the (where else but) Introduction Section.

Basically, I will be going to Simferopol (or somewhere else in Crimea based on suggestions I get from members) for a month or so in October.

First, I am wanting to receive info from members regarding modes and methods of transportation to and from Simferopol with respect to other cities in Crimea.  i.e  How easy is it to travel between the cities?  Would Simferopol be the most logical city to choose to make it most convenient for the highest number of women to travel to from the other various Crimea cities?

Second, I am looking for any leads as to good 'helpers' in Simferopol with respect to finding me an apartment, helping me get a 'feel for the land', learing my way around the transport system, etc.

Or if anyone had direct contact info about a specific apartment, that would be good also.  I would be needing a three room place (two separate sleeping areas) and everything remounted to Euro standards.

Thanks,  ML
A beautiful woman is pleasant to look at, but it is easier to live with a pleasant acting one.

I guess I'm the resident expert on Simferopol and Crimea in general as my wife is from there and I lived there for a couple of years.  If you want to PM me I can probably help you out.

Simferopol is a good idea because of its central location in the Crimea. From there, you can travel nearly anywhere else while accommodation would be less expensive than, let’s say, in Yalta. The best transportation mode is by cab. Because of the mountain terrain railway connection is limited. You can only go to Sevastopol and Yevpatoria by train, and it takes forever (about two hours and a half from Simferopol to Sevastopol while it is about 80 km). To Yalta you can also take a trolleybus but it is about the same time for the same distance.

There are also small and average sized buses that you can take anywhere. That can be a good idea because they are fast, reliable and cheap.

As for women, I hold girls in Sevastopol and Simferopol to be the most attractive in Ukraine.

By the way, I am also a local; PM me and I can help you.

Do a search on "Around Crimea by Car"

If you travel by taxi from Sim. to Yalta do not pay more than $60 U.S. dollars one way. I got zapped on the first leg.

As for me, I like Sevastopol the best! Nice city, Russian military bases with submarines and a lot of places to see and visit. You can rent a car from this company http://www.autodrive.com.ua and drive around Crimea if you want, doesn't really take much time. Apartments are easy to rent, just go to any train station, there will be people offering good apartments, and the price is good too, that's like renting directly from the owner avoiding middle guys.

While Sevastopol is indeed a great city, it isn't centrally located, so going to places such as Kerch or Feodosia would be much less convenieint.  I fact, just about anywhere you would go in Crimea from Sevastopol would require you to go through Simferopol.
