please help with shipping to Ukraine.

A more experienced person could help me with this. What method does everyone prefer to use for shipping. I have a 10 by 12 by 5 in. package with a weight of 9.5 lbs. that I want to ship to Donetsk. It doesn't have much monetary value, just something I made. It is not in a rush to get there, but I was quoted 280.00 by UPS. I told them that I didn't want to buy stock in the company, just ship a package.

Use regular post ... I have tried with DHL and get package returned 6 months after...everything that was sent using the regular post services was ok and with correct delays (3 weeks)

Ask your wife or girlfriend to write her address in russian alphabet and print this info on the package, just write below it UKRAINE in latin alphabet.
I ship on a regular basis children clothes to her and it was always ok.

If not in a real hurry, I've also had very good luck with Meest. I've sent probably about 20-30 packages with Meest with absolutely no issues. Typically takes about 2 weeks to Kiev or about 3 to the rest of Ukraine. Bigger cities have faster service.
Take time to learn the language. Even a little can go a long ways...

Get off your butt and go! Don't make excuses why you can't do it, find a way to make it work! Always go with a backup plan too!!!

For smaller packages I have used  USPS.  For larger packages, I use Meest.  It takes longer, but it is cheaper and it always arrives.  I have been very impressed with their service.

I think there was a split because there are two Meest's now.  I used the one that Roman Malko manages.  He has a direct number and whenever there were any questons I was able to speak with him directly.
