Misunderstandings happen all the time.  My wife and I had a couple of big ones even though she spoke excellent English and had a reasonable understanding of Western culture.  However, our misunderstandings did not last long (an hour or so) because we gave each other the benefit of any doubt and did not want anything to fester.

Did these misunderstandings occur over 6000 miles or after she arrived to live with you?

I had similar 'misunderstandings' with my ex that usually took a few days to sort out via skype and/or telephone. They weren't exactly like those of the OP but and his lady but similar in that her character was not going to change nor was my tolerance of her behavior. I also found that when these disagreements occurred while we were together, they were much quicker to get through, and things were much more pleasant after 'making up'. But in the end, I still could not take it. It was never going to end and neither of us were ever going to change.

jdk1963 talk to her openly and understand why she is jealous, then listen to your heart. This is the only advice what should be given here.

People who write on this board do not know your girl personally, never met her and never talked to her, they also have no idea how you both feel about each other and what worries her. I put my 90% that she loves you and worries that you are just playing and spending your time on other girls. That only indicates either her low confidence about herself or low trust to you.
It's your problem if you take my posts too seriously.

Our misunderstandings happened when together in Russia during our first year together.  As you say, when in person it is a lot easier to resolve them.

One example was I thought she had never driven based on what I thought she said.  In fact, she was already an excellent driver.  So she got upset when I told her that she could learn to drive on my son's wreck of a car.  It hurt her pride, and I paid. One hour later, all forgotten.

Now that I reread JDK's post, their misunderstanding occurred on-line.  I missed that point.  Still seems like a telephone call would resolve it if two people were compatible.

If the issue indeed is jealousy, watch out!  Jealousy is a deep-seated, very detrimental problem.  Improvement does not happen quickly.

Read about it on the Internet.
