Hotels Amsterdam?
« on: January 01, 2010, 12:13:38 AM »
And yet another question....

I have flown through Amsterdam several times.  Easy to negotiate through, many people speak English, quite handy.
I will be flying through on my return trip, arriving early evening, short stay overnight and leaving at 10:00 in the morning.

This adventure is expensive enough as it is, so trying to save where possible.
Looking for a quiet, reasonable hotel, not tremendously far from the airport.
If anyone has a suggestion, let me know.  My travel agent is pushing Holiday Inn (around $110 I think).
Nice movie (Bing and Fred), but as far as a hotel, never been impressed.  Still, I'll be in the hotel less than 12 hours, so maybe that works.  Would be nice to sleep.  I have a 10 hour wait in one airport on the following day, so not exactly psyched for that.

Thanks.

Citizen M is very nice and 5 minute walk from airport.  Futuristic type hotel.

Xman,
It has been a long time since I "did" Amsterdam, but I stayed at a hotel that is attached to the airport.  It was nice and do not remember it being too pricy.  Ask your agent.

Just stayed in Amsterdam airport today at mercure for 85 Euros.  For $110 usd that is a very good price at Holiday Inn.  Your probably going to pay more if go to any other hotel in the area.  Citizen M was 80 Euros but I did not feel like going through immigration so stayed with Mercure which is inside immigration.
