NC Murder

Elvira and I were pretty shaken up today when we learned two of our Russian friends
were involved in a local murder - one as victim and one as killer.

We met these two guys last spring at my daughter's apartment complex pool party,
and spent the afternoon with them drinking, laughing, and trading stories. Both were
hockey players from Kazakhstan. Bogdan had played locally at the minor league level
with several teams here and in Florida. Yuri was summoned to the USA by Bogdan, who
shared his apartment and was trying to get Yuri onboard with the Charlotte Checkers.

In August they both helped us celebrate my grandson's first birthday.

Wow!! To be so close to people, and then see something like this is just mind boggling. I hope you and your family are handling this ok.

Thanks, Viking. Bogdan had a "scrapper" reputation on the ice - but this incident....  well,
I just never would have guessed.

We figure something went amiss over love or money.
