CALLING COLORADO
« on: December 23, 2005, 06:46:11 AM »
Guys,

Can you please explain how to phone Colorado from here? I've never phoned America so I need to know all the codes that I need to dial!

And what is the time difference between Colorado and New York?

Thank you!

Da, first dial 00 (international code from the U.K.) and then 1 (U.S.  country code.) Then, the appropriate Colorado area code: there are four  to choose from: 303, 719, 720 and 970. If you are not sure which one is  the right one for the party you wish to call, see  http://www.50states.com/areacodes/colorado.htm

So, you would call 00-1-Colorado area code-number, e.g., 00-1-303-555-1234.

Colorado is 2 hours earlier than New York.

Пожалуйста!

Indeed, Colorado is on MST: Mountain Standard Time.

Coincidentally, I once called both my Denver clients from Heathrow some years ago.

Talking of Denver, do you remember the film with Andy Garcia called 'Things to do in Denver when you dead'?

Few years ago they were showing this film in Russia and they misspelled the name of the film and in a TV paper it was called 'Что делать мертвецу в деревне' - 'Things to do in a village when you dead.' :D (you must admit Denver and Derevnya sounds a bit similar):D

Those crazy Russians....
